  • Xanga Treason!

I realize I am committing Xanga treason by joining blogspot, but hey, can you really blame me? I might even start Facebook sometime too, since I think Xanga is going down in the popularity polls, but one thing at a time. Anyway, my point is that you can now view more of Eli at this link:  http://www.eligustin.blogspot.com. All Eli all the time! By the way, thanks Eliza for introducing me to the wonderful world of free blogging!

  • An Hour and a Half in Walgreens' Parking Lot!

So here's the story: We got to Kirksville at 10:30, at which point I went in and had some pictures printed of Eli. Then by 11:00 we were ready for his bottle, which took him about 45 minutes to finish! Then after having lunch with a friend and going back to Walgreens to pick up the pictures and doing some other shopping, he was ready for his 2:00 bottle, which took him another 45 minutes to finish! What's the deal? It only takes him 20 minutes to finish one at home. But when I sat with him in the front seat with the airco on full blast, he finally stayed awake long enough to realize it was mealtime.

I think he's starting to develop tear ducts. The last few days he has cried I have noticed a greater amount of moisture in his eyes. And his facial expressions are becoming more pronounced too. I think he's starting to discover his tongue. It's so cute! Here's another funny thing: he wet his infant seat in the morning, and his carseat in the afternoon, so by the time we got home, he had nothing to sit in and had to just lie down on blankets for a while until I did laundry. I never would have thought he'd soil both of his seats in one day!

    One Month Old Already!

Eli is now officially one month old! They weighed him at over 10 lbs, so he must have gained another pound last week. That's where all those extra ounces of formula went! Speaking of formula, we are alternating between bottles of soy and bottles of hypoallergenic, and it is working great for him. He is just like his father--he likes variety in eating! Plus, the doctor's office said I could bring a camera to the doctor visits anytime I want and they won't think I'm weird. How cool is that? So next time I'll get pictures. We are all excited about Aunt Jessica's arrival this weekend and still praying for the Kristensens to get over this flu/allergy/sickness thing. By the way, he now has an official identity as an American citizen. I just got his social security card in the mail, and it was really strange to see a piece of mail coming to our house with his name on it!
